AmaWaterways are set to become the first mainstream river cruise line to offer sailings on Colombia's Magdalena River when AmaMagdalena launches in 2024. A groundbreaking partnership with South American tour operator Metropolitan Touring has seen the development of an 80-passenger, all-suite eco-friendly rivership. The vessel will feature modern comforts, luxurious touches and unparalleled service, allowing passengers to explore the 950-mile river renowned for its biodiversity. Onboard nature and wildlife experts will accompany cruises, providing activities such as kayaking, hiking and birdwatching, while a wellness host will also be on board. AmaMagdalena's two 7-night itineraries and optional pre- and post-cruise land programs are currently being developed, with more details to be announced at a later date. An exact launch date has not yet been revealed, but the ship is expected to enter service in early 2024.
